GPT Image FAQ
A ChatGPT Image 2 prompt (also searched as GPT Image 2 prompt or chatgpt image 2 prompt) is the instruction you give ChatGPT’s image generator to create an image (and often refine it via multi-turn edits). On this page, GPT Image aggregates GPT Image 1.5 and future GPT Image 2.0 works.
“ChatGPT Image 2” is a common user term for the next-generation image model inside ChatGPT. Prompting basics stay the same: subject-first, shot language, lighting, camera, and constraints.
Use this template for chatgpt image 2 prompt workflows:
[subject], [key attributes/materials], [action/pose], [environment], [composition/framing], [lighting], [camera/lens], [style anchor], [constraints: what to avoid], ultra realistic
High-signal rules:
- Put the subject first (highest weight).
- Use one framing phrase (e.g. “centered close-up”, “wide shot”, “top-down flat lay”).
- Describe background as a constraint (“clean studio backdrop”), not a second storyline.
- Specify lighting direction + temperature (not “nice lighting”).
- Use only 1–2 style anchors; avoid adjective soup.
- Add constraints for artifacts: “no text, no watermark, no extra fingers”.
GPT Image 2.0 is not publicly released yet. The expected difference is: GPT Image 2.0 outputs look more natural and realistic (especially in lighting, materials, and human details) compared to GPT Image 1.5.
If you want to try GPT 2.0 yourself, here’s how:
- Go to https://arena.ai
- Make sure the top-left setting is switched to “Battle Mode”
- Enter your prompt
- You may randomly get an output from this model
Most failures come from competing subjects and vague constraints. Make your prompt stable by:
- one main subject, one primary action
- one framing phrase (close-up / wide / top-down)
- background as a constraint (“clean studio background”) not a second storyline
- change only one variable per iteration (lighting OR environment OR materials)
